As you may have seen on our social media channels, last week we went to London's Southbank Centre to celebrate the opening of 'Light Up The Room: Portraits by Rankin' exhibition, all in aid of Southbank's Let The Light In Campaign. We were lucky enough to design exclusive Light Shard Wooden Cufflinks for the collection alongside some of the UK's most acclaimed designers and up-and-coming makers. The jewellery collection is available to buy now in the Southbank Centre's online shop with all proceeds going toward the refurbishment and restoration of the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room. The aim of the project is to Let The Light In to the Southbank Centre and restore the iconic 1960s buildings into arts spaces that will stimulate, inspire, educate and amaze for generations to come.
Inspired by the interplay of light on and within Southbank Centre's historic buildings, we created a set of light shard cufflinks that use wood-panelling to evoke a vintage feel. The exhibition of celebrity portraits by renowned photographer Ian Rankin, including all the jewellery is now on display at Southbank - including Nihal Arthanayake wearing our cufflinks!
