Brighton Fringe Festival Top Picks


May is without a doubt one of the best times to visit Brighton, with lots of festivals including The Great Escape, Brighton Festival and Artist's Open Houses in full swing, there's entertainment everywhere you look! Brighton Fringe is England’s largest arts festival and one of the largest fringe festivals in the world. With over 970 events at 155 venues across 4 weeks, there really is something for everyone. The festivities kick off on Thursday 4th May with the Brighton Fringe Launch Night Fireworks at The Warren, and live entertainment courtesy of Fringe City. With so much going on we've put together some of our top picks from this years programme!


Brighton Gay Men's Chorus: The Superhero Show

They move among you unseen. To the untrained eye they appear just like you and me, but that's just a smokescreen. Then, Bam! Pow! Suddenly, there they are: righting wrongs; saving the day; helping you choose your wallpaper. They are the superpowered Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus.

Trade Winds
Shiny Town, 25-28, 30-31 May, 1-4 Jun 21:25
Trade Winds is an evocative performance installation depicting the journey of two women from different cultures. This stunning collaboration by Australian dance-theatre company Polytoxic and contemporary Pacific visual artist, Samuel Tupou is a magical event for the whole family. Two performers literally dance on the water and as they move they become giant screens illuminated by a world of exquisite animated projections.
Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

Chaos ensues as soon as you arrive at this fully immersive show where you dine, served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel. Join them for lashings of laughter, spontaneity and plenty of participation, along with a 3-course meal.

A stunning acrobat suspended beneath a free standing arch performs to an original live score performed by Matt Constantine (Strings/Keyboards) and Trevor Walker (Trumpet).

Broadway Lunchbox

'Broadway Lunchbox' is a lunchtime cabaret show, changing every performance, with different performers and different songs running for the entirety of Brighton Fringe.
Drawing Circus

An extravaganza of themed figure-drawing. Come sketch with us as models in circus costume are frozen mid-act for your drawing delight. All abilities are welcome and drawing materials are provided.

Tommy, 22, lives with three generations of his family. They’ve learnt to ignore the strange things his nan says over dinner, and the bizarre rumblings coming from the attic. Horribly honest clowns and questionable cabaret acts ignite the stage with Human Zoo’s trademark live music, puppetry, poetry and movement.
